CoFiA members, guests and staff enjoyed our annual August party-picnic at the beautiful home of Carmita Fong in Leonia. We were warmly welcomed by Carmita’s charming mother and equally charming son, who made sure we had everything we needed.
Participants included long-time and shorter-term CoFiA members, plus out-of-town guests Selena and Joe Keesecker, from Phoenix. When they lived in this area they were active in CoFiA and have continued their immigrants rights work in Arizona. It was great to see them and catch up.
Joselino Chocoj and Francisco Balan both shared their musical talents. It was lovely to sit on the lawn in the cool evening, listen to good music, and forget for a few minutes the terrible things that are happening in our country and around the world.
