On Saturday, August 12, CoFiA members are invited to a barbecue at the lovely home of Carmita Fong in Leonia. Carmita has hosted us for many wonderful get-togethers over the years, from celebrations for OSHA graduates to end-of-season barbecues and fund-raising concerts. The August 12 event begins at 7 p.m. with a pot-luck supper followed by conversation, presentations, and musical performances. We are happy that our long-time friend and consultant Elias Garcia will be with us and help to welcome new members of CoFiA. Elias will bring us up to date on what is happening in the Guatemalan community here and in Guatemala, and present important information on how Guatemalans can work with the consulate to update their passports, DPIs, and other important documents.
